When I took delivery of my current Gal I got two keys - One radio/Infra red and one ordinary but I also got a black plastic key - it doesn't have a proper handle but it does unlock the car and it does start it. What is it's actual purpose?

I am assuming it's for programming other keys - or worst case as a get you home key.

Any ideas?

I was told mine was to enable me to get new keys cut if I lost mine.

It's also a pretty handy size to stash away somewhere convenient for emergencies.

I've never used mine - but was told it's the key James Bond would give to a hotel to get the luggage. It apparently - As Mumble Bee allures to does not open the glove box, so keep the gun in there  Edited by Dave-G

Don't quote me on this.............

I believe is was one of those moments that Ford had, you clip the key behind one of the bumpers in case you lose yours when out and about.

Of course the car thieves haven't got a clue about this

I like this answer best - so I will probably do that with it - suitably well hidden of course!!!
